There are literally thousands of Orthodontists who attend this conference plus auxiliary staff and orthodontic supply companies. The trade display is simply enormous.
Attending these conferences allows Dr Pat the opportunity to see and listen to presenters that are leaders in the orthodontic profession as well as up and coming orthodontists presenting interesting research.
As vice president of the Australian Society of Orthodontists Dr Pat is expected to attend meetings and conferences through Australia and overseas. However, attending these types of conferences is a chance for him to further his personal education.
At the conference, the first World Orthodontic Health Day was announced. The President of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), Allan Thom, said 15th May was chosen as it marks the signing of the WFO’s Charter back in 1995.
The trade display allows visitors the opportunity to investigate the newest technology and hands on demonstrations. As with all other areas of technology in the world, there are advances being made. Some of these new advances are now proven and some are yet to be proven.
It is one of Dr Pat’s passions to ensure he is on top of what is happening with advances in orthodontics. This way he can provide the best available treatment for our patients.
